Bring a large pot of water to a boil; add salt. Cook linguine until al dente according to package instructions; drain, and reserve 3/4 cup cooking water. Return linguine to pot, and add pesto and reserved cooking water; toss well to coat. Season with salt. Serve with Parmesan, if desired.
Hi, me again. Pesto is also made with Parmesan, so this recipe is NOT vegetarian.
Hi there, just thought i would share the fact that Parmesan cheese is NOT vegetarian as it contains rennet. There are some other hard Italian cheeses that are vegetarian but are obviously not exactly the same.
Thank you Stephanie L for posting the website of the original recipe again. Could the person who listed this please correct it for those that come after us? It is inconvenient. Thanks in advance! :)

No, this recipe is NOT complete. I know how to cook pasta! What I was interested in is the ingredients for the flax seed pesto!
No, this recipe is not complete. The recipe for the pesto is missing - this is just directions on how to cook pasta and add pesto to it... which is not really that helpful. Thanks Linayolanda for finding the pesto recipe! Pesto recipe + this recipe = complete recipe! http://www.marthastewart.com/355999/parsley-flaxseed-pesto
This recipe is complete it just happens to be written poorly. When there are more than one step we usually number each individual step. However, this recipe lumped everything into one ("1.") paragraph which gave the appearance that it was incomplete. Simply reading the one-step paragraph one would see all steps are contained herein. Happy cooking.
The recipe has not been completed!? Where are the rest to the ingredients?
I found the Parsley Flax Seed Pesto recipe here: http://www.marthastewart.com/355999/parsley-flaxseed-pesto
recipe doesn't even have flax seed in it!
I was expecting the recipe for pesto. I already know how to cook pasta.
