Like something straight out of "Project Runway" challenge, two companies give new life to old clothes in the hopes of serving the planet your closet simultaneously.
The Urban Renewal collection by Urban Outfitters features pieces constructed from discarded clothes and accessories, such as a plaid skirt transformed into a patchwork tote, and vintage sheets turned into a ruffled dress.
Goodwell industries, the self-described "original recyclers," teamed up with designer Nick Graham to create William Good, a repurposed clothing line that aims to save 100 percent of unsold donated items from landing in the trash. Graham's team embellishes these items into one-of-a-kind dresses, shirts, and skirts.
