There's fair-trade, cage-free, organic, and shade-grown. Now add "homegrown" to the growing collection of stickers that tell a food's story.
It's the defining label of Western Montana producers, who formed a union dedicated to selling food locally (within 150 miles of their farms). They're currently the only group in the States to offer such a certification, but similar labels might crop up in other communities.
