Reader to Reader: Your Creative Influences

In our January/February issue, we asked readers to tell us what gets their creative juices flowing. The winning response came from Melanie S. of Cleveland, Ohio. She'll receive a gift pack of all-natural bath treats by Eminence Organic Skin Care, valued at $250!

Melanie's Response
"I do anything I can to shake up my routine. That might mean taking a new route to work, eating an exotic food, or even getting up on the opposite side of the bed. All this takes me out of my regular mode of thinking and sparks new ideas and insights!"

It's so easy to get overwhelmed and especially in a big city to get caught up in the mad rush even when there is no rush. Whenever I can I take a moment to take a few deep breaths and look at the sky--whether it's sunny or overcast there is always something to notice and distract from the hustle and bustle--the sun, the clouds, the colors--and it's so removed from my troubles and the rush of everyday life it instantly centers me.

I take time to notice the little things, the birds chirpping in the morning, a great cup of coffee, dawnbreaking and the springs followers popping up all over

No matter how busy I am I take the time to walk my dog Beanie. If it is a nice day my husband and I put aside chores and non urgent business and go for a ride along
    the shoreline.
