Buttermilk-Date Smoothie

Ingredients

  • 1 cup low-fat buttermilk
  • 2 ripe bananas
  • 11 dates, dried and pitted
  • 1 teaspoon honey
  • Pinch of salt
  • 1 cup ice

Directions

  1. Combine all ingredients in a blender, and blend until smooth.

    Very thick and delicious. One would think dates with their awful smell would be just as awful when eaten. However, the dates contributed to the thick texture and unique taste. This smoothie could be used as a large snack or meal replacement.
