Natural Cleaners

Contrary to popular belief, you don't need high-octane chemicals to render a home spic-and-span. Three new brands of natural cleaners are proof.

The furniture experts at ABC Carpet & Home developed Home Care ($12 to $25 for 16 ounces, abchome.com), wonderfully aromatic organic sprays including a furniture polish, a botanical room freshener, and a stain remover.

The three varieties (glass, all-purpose, and spot) from Begley's Best ($6 for 24 ounces, begleysbest.com), developed by actor and environmentalist Ed Begley, Jr., use naturally derived sugars and fatty acids to penetrate dirt and grime.

And Dierdre Imus, the wife of Don Imus, has come out with Greening the Cleaning ($5 for 32 ounces, imusranchfoods.com), her own all-purpose line that's free of any known carcinogens.
