Skip the coffee when that late-day lethargy hits. Instead, chug an 8-ounce glass of water. Dehydration can drain energy, says Merrell, especially if most of your beverages contain caffeine, a diuretic. By midafternoon, you may be parched, even if you don't feel it.

Check your thermostat. The ideal temperature for sleeping is about 65 degrees, according to the Better Sleep Council.
