I found these a bit too cakey, I prefer a fudgier brownie. There was a really good chocolate taste though! I used baking chocolate instead of cocoa powder and reduced the flour. I also added frosting! I posted the recipe on my blog: The Mini Canteen.

These rock! We had some friends over with their small children, and the kids LOVED the brownies. I was also lucky enough to visit Baby Cakes in NYC... all of her stuff is amazing! So nice to have gluten free that isn't gummy!

Regarding gluten free recipes...please check out gluten free girl's blogspot. She has also recently published a book. Priceless!

I can't have potato starch or arrowroot or cornstarch. Can I use tapioca flour or something else?

Instead of bean flours, I substituted with 3/8 cup of sweet sorghum flour, 3/8 cup white rice flour, and 2 tablespoons corn starch and the recipe turned out wonderfully!

I have an anemia that does not allow me to eat fava beans which is in garfava and fava flour. Has anyone used a substitute that is still gluten free?

Diago... I too am allergic to wheat, rye, oats and barley... I think you can find the garbanzo flour at health food stores. They usually have a variety of different type of gluten free flours. Goodluck!
