Our Team Alex PostmanEditor-In-Chief Alex Postman has nearly two decades of experience in publishing, and she got a crash course in sustainable living while collaborating on the book "Healthy Child, Healthy World: Creating a Cleaner, Greener, Safer Home." She joined Body+Soul from Elle magazine, where she served as executive editor for seven years; previously, she was on staff at Conde Nast Women's Sports & Fitness. She has run six marathons, is trying to become more yogic, and lives in New York City with her husband and three children. Amy MaclinExecutive Editor Amy Maclin's favorite part of being Body+Soul's executive editor is getting answers to all her most pressing questions: Can housekeeping become a meditative practice? Will hot yoga lead to weight loss? Is it a good idea to look up every single physical symptom on the Internet? She was a senior editor and wrote the monthly column, "Beauty Floozy," at Wondertime, a parenting/lifestyle magazine that was nominated for two National Magazine Awards; a senior editor for the New York Times Syndicate; and a staff editor at Elle, Allure, and Mirabella magazines. Caryn PrimeAssistant Managing Editor Born and raised in Brooklyn, Caryn comes to Body+Soul after nine years working for various Time Inc. magazines, including Sports Illustrated (as a reporter) and All You (as copy chief). She manages the editorial process from start to finish -- from scheduling and trafficking all content, to overseeing the copy and research departments. A graduate of Brown University, Caryn still lives in Brooklyn and only recently realized (since working at Body+Soul) that she loves to cook! Olessa PindakDeputy Editor, Health and Beauty Olessa Pindak began her magazine career at Allure, where she sniffed and scrubbed her way through every beauty product under the sun. She was raised in a family that makes whole-wheat bread from scratch, spoons wheat germ on everything, and believes there isn't much that the right cup of tea or natural remedy can't cure. As senior editor at Natural Health magazine, she covered topics that led her to Korea to learn about green tea and Guatemala to meet Fair-Trade aloe farmers. A New York City resident, she composts, grows herbs on her fire escape, and tries to reuse everything -- from bits of antique jewelry to eye-cream containers. On weekends, she can be found museum-hopping, cooking, or escaping the city to hike or run by the ocean. Sarah EnglerSenior Lifestyle Editor As the magazine's lifestyle editor, Sarah Engler loves that her job indulges her passions by requiring her to find the most stylish eco-friendly items, beautiful homes, inspiring people, and must-visit places. Hailing from multiple Midwestern states, she now lives in a 100-year-old Brooklyn apartment that she and her boyfriend are slowly but surely renovating to make more modern and green. She has also edited home, entertaining, and travel at Cookie and Real Simple. Terri TrespicioSenior Features Editor Terri Trespicio covers all the "intangible" aspects of the Body+Soul lifestyle -- psychology, spirituality, relationships, and personal development, to name a few. In addition to developing and writing stories for the magazine, Terri hosts the live daily call-in show "Whole Living" on the Martha Stewart channel on Sirius 112/XM 157 every weekday at 10 a.m. ET and 7 a.m. PT. She's also a regular contributor to "The Martha Stewart Show" and has appeared on the "Today" show, "The Early Show," Fox News, and other television outlets. Terri holds a master's of fine arts from Emerson College and relocated from Boston in 2009 to join the rest of the MSLO team in its Manhattan headquarters. Amanda MacMillanWeb Editor, WholeLiving.com After graduating with a science journalism major from Lehigh University, Amanda MacMillan was introduced to health and nutrition writing as an intern (and later an editor) at Prevention magazine. She's since worked for or contributed to various publications, including O, National Geographic's The Green Guide, YogaLife, and Health.com. She loves food and wine, being outdoors, and -- because she's not exactly good at any one sport but sufficiently decent at a few -- competing in triathlons with the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society's Team in Training program. Sari LehrerEditor-at-Large Sari Lehrer oversees the magazine's food content -- a very happy job for someone who enjoys thinking and reading and talking about food second only to eating it. Before joining the staff at Body+Soul, Sari was articles editor at Gourmet. She lives (and cooks) in New York City with her husband, their baby son, and gluttonous pug, Ike. Paul HertelResearch Editor Paul Hertel has been a reporter and researcher for a number of magazines (Real Simple, Women's Health, Cookie) and has finally met his match with Body+Soul. As a practicing reiki master, actor, interfaith minister, and self-declared mystic, he enjoys exploring the many elements in the world of wellness and spirituality. He lives in Brooklyn with his cat-behaviorist wife, Kerrie, and three fuzzy things. Andriana VerdiEditorial Assistant As a recent college graduate, Andriana Verdi is thrilled to be learning the editorial process from many different angles; she still can't believe how seamlessly her job marries her interests -- she was an English major and art minor -- while enabling her to explore and pursue a healthy, eco-friendly lifestyle. When she's not writing the Contributor's page or the Table of Contents, you can find Andriana learning to cook, running, or exercising her inner interior designer by decorating her apartment. |
