I used a blender and strained it with a cheesecloth - worked great. However, was very strong ginger flavor and I used only half inch. I think adding lemon and mint would taste better.
Flavor was Great, but skip unless you have a juicer...texture is bad with a blender ever when ingredients were peeled.
For those wanting a blender recipe, I did 1 chopped pear, 1 (peeled) sliced cucumber, a few frozen mango chunks, 1.5 cups of ice water. Tasted delicious!
I, too, am looking for the blender-friendly recipes. Please advise as well.
Thanks
The magazine tells us to go to the website for blender friendly recipes but I don't see them. Can anyone help?
I don't have a juicer but I have a high end blender that emulsified it, I found that with a blender a whole cucumber is too much so substitute for half or add another pear, I think the ginger was a nice addition and added a little squeeze of lemon (to combat the cucumber) also peeling cucumber might help
Found this to be really weird tasting -- perhaps too much cucumber.
I don't have a juicer, so I blended the recipe. I just filled the blender and added water half-way up the pitcher. It dilutes the flavour but I just think of it as flavoured water. It's also more filling, which is good because i believe today's lunch is just the broccoli soup.
Really wakes up your taste buds in the morning! Zippy and delicious. As other reviewers have noted, this drink has a very strong ginger flavor. I loved it, but if you're not a fan of spicy, gingery things, reduce the ginger by half or leave it out entirely.
I liked this juice! I did add an extra pear and a couple of mint leaves and it made about a pint of juice. I poured 1/2 over ice and saved the rest to sip on before lunch.
I liked this drink, but not my first choice. I made it just as written. Today is day 2 for me. I have never done anything like this before.
Very strong ginger taste for one who doesn't normally have much ginger. I added an apple for a little extra sweetness. In the future I will use less ginger..
Here's last year's blender recipes for those without a juicer:

The magazine tells us to go to the web site for Blender friendly recipes to use in place of hte three that call for a juicer. I'm not finding these. Help
